Overview
RTLV is a real-time log files viewer useful for server administrators or anyone who needs to watch logfiles and view their changes while they are happening. With RTLV you can watch almost any text style log file with a simple button click. RTLV can remember the 15 most recent logfiles that you have visited. Two aditional tools are also provided: "IP to Name" and "Search". The first one resolves IP numbers to names and it was included with the web server administrators in mind. The second one allows to search for a string in the log file. Please note that this search is case-sensitive.
Install and Uninstall
RTLV does not need any special installation. All you have to do is to put the rtlv.exe file anywhere you want and run it. RTLV creates two files (rtlv.mru ans rtlv.ini) in the same directory where it runs. The rtlv.mru file is where RTLV stores the name and path of the most recent 15 logfiles that you have opened and rtlv.ini stores the latest window size you used. To uninstall you only have to delete the rtlv.exe, rtlv.mru and rtlv.ini files.
License and Registration
RTLV is FREEWARE which means that you can use and distribute free of charges the files included in the zip archive. After using the software for 30 days you need a Registration Code to continue to use it. The registration is also FREE but you have to request it sending a stamped postcard to my company partner who is a postcard collector. On the postcard you must write you Name, the Installation Code that you see when you open an unregistered version of RTLV and the e-mail address where I can send a permanent Registration Code.
